United Bank of Union recently issued 1098 Mortgage Interest Forms to all mortgage borrowers with at least $600 paid in interest over the course of the year in 2020.
This form may be misleading to some customers in regards to the "Principal Balance" shown in Box 2 at the top right-hand corner of the form. This balance should reflect the loan's principal balance as of 01/01/2020. The back of each form has more information relating to all fields found on the front side of the form. A sample 1098 form is shown below, with instructions pertaining to the form.
